Welcome to the Stonehouse Development Trust

New Stonehouse Development Trust Directors Needed

Stonehouse Development Trust are currently seeking residents or local organisation
representatives to join us as directors of the Trust. The board is currently made of
volunteers active in Stonehouse campaigning to raise funds and develop community
initiatives that enhance the quality of life for those living in the village and improve
business opportunities for all. There is no financial remuneration for the position.

In the past few years the Trust has raised around £300,000 for community ventures and
organisations. This has only been made possible through the skills, talents and
commitment of the community volunteers who have driven these projects forward since
the organisations establishment.

In these times of financial constraint the Trust believes we as a community can succeed
where others have not in addressing some of the issues and needs of the village at a
local level. To do this we need your support in developing new ideas and initiatives. The
Trust is currently developing a community buyout initiative to purchase and renovate the
Public Institute in New Street to provide business opportunities and commercial lets for
community benefit. The Trust however are eager to retain the building for community
benefit and the creation of job opportunities in Stonehouse. The Trust’s proposal includes
funding bids to Europe and the Lottery for £1.2million to develop the project and is
evidence of the potential we have as a community to generate income and opportunities
for Stonehouse.

If you would be interested in hearing more about our activities and would consider
